Arm CAD

Original Design

We started with a basic arm design controlled by lx-16a servo motors. The gripper is a pre-fabricated gripper

ArmFEA.png

FEA of Arm

To ensure our design could withstand expected loads, an FEA was conducted on the link. This simplified model helped us determine where weight savings could be done

Final Design

Based on FEA, cuts were made to keep a factor of saftey above 3 while reducing weight. This is the final design of the arm

Conveyor Belt

The conveyor is powered by a Nema 17 stepper motor with a 2:1 timing belt for transmission. The transmission belt rotates the sprocket which in turn meshes with the threads of the conveyor belt to move it forward.
